Aditya Srinivasan Tirunilai’s research focuses on precipitation and deformation behavior in metallic alloys. Investigated materials include high and medium entropy alloys with the goal being the understanding of microstructural origins of the behavior and the extension of these fundamental outcomes to more traditional alloys. Experimental investigations include different uniaxial testing methods employed over a wide temperature range and characterization investigations of deformed and aged samples at different length scales. The limits of these investigations are extended through cyclic testing, extreme low temperature investigations, and high resolution characterization with the partnership of collaborators within and outside of the institute.
